# Ship to the United States from Japan

Zone 4 EMS reference rates, the suspended US de minimis exemption, and alcohol blocked on the copied proxy tables.

The Japan Post EMS country list, re-read on 2026-10-15, names the United States of America as zone 4. The covered area is all areas, excluding Guam, Saipan, Puerto Rico, and U.S. overseas territories that exclude the U.S. Virgin Islands, and U.S. military bases (APO, FPO, and DPO) where the last three digits of their zip codes start with 090-098, 962-966, and 340. This dataset still has one country row for US. The rate table through 30 kg was copied. For zones 3 and 4 the HTML says tentative extra charges are included. The published amount already includes that charge, so none is added on top. The breakdown PDF was not transcribed. The number is Japan Post's list rate, not a proxy invoice.

The USD 800 de minimis exemption was suspended worldwide on 29 August 2025. For mail, the suspension is indefinite from 24 July 2026, with a postal informal entry up to USD 2,500. From 22 October 2026 some goods leave that informal entry. The goods list was not copied, and this tool does not convert yen into dollars.

Kitamura says its eBay store currently ships to the United States only. Buyee's alcohol page lists the United States among countries that prohibit the import. Tenso marks both Japan Post and DHL unavailable. Whisky and sake to the US are blocked here. ZenMarket, Neokyo, FROM JAPAN, and White Rabbit country tables were not opened. US state law was not researched.
