# How to buy effects pedals from Japan

Digimart has no overseas checkout. Its guidance names ZenMarket.

Estimates only. Not a quote, not a customs ruling, and not an offer to sell or ship. Confirm fees, prohibitions, and duty with the proxy and with destination customs. Figures can change after the last-verified date.

JapanLanded may later earn a commission when someone uses a referral link. Affiliate enrollments are not in place, so outbound links are public pages, not tracked referrals. We do not sell the goods. Names of proxies and products are used to describe them and are their owners' trademarks.

## The shop and the adapter

Digimart's English guidance tells overseas buyers to use a proxy and recommends ZenMarket. OneMall, itself a proxy, argues that a weak yen makes used Japanese gear cheaper than Reverb or eBay. That is the company's marketing. We do not repeat it as a finding. One r/musicians post says eBay listings from Japan run about 30% above buying direct. That is one person's report.

Pedals usually take a separate AC adapter. Amplifiers need more caution. Japan is 100 V. If the adapter label is 100–240 V, plan on a plug adapter. If it is 100 V only, plan on a step-down transformer. Guitars are large parcels and have no weight preset here.

## Worked example

12000 yen, 450 g, Germany. Export check: nothing in this dataset blocks export to Germany. Use check: Japan is 100 V. Eastern Japan is 50 Hz and western Japan is 60 Hz. Voltage was not confirmed. Read the label. 100–240 V usually means a plug adapter. 100 V only needs a step-down transformer. Effects pedals usually use a separate AC adapter. Amplifiers need extra caution. This does not block export. It is about whether the gear will run. This is not a customs clearance.

| Proxy | Pay now, known | EMS reference |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Buyee | ¥12,650 – ¥14,000 | ¥3,150 |
| ZenMarket | ¥12,500 | ¥3,150 |
| Neokyo | ¥12,850 | ¥3,150 |
| Tenso | ¥12,280 | ¥3,150 |
| FROM JAPAN | ¥12,000 | ¥3,150 |
| White Rabbit Express | ¥12,000 | ¥3,150 |

These partial sums are not a landed total. No cheapest and no fastest proxy. Domestic postage, payment fees, and the proxies' own international rates are missing or ranged, and no transit times are stored. Naming a winner would invent a number.

## Steps

1. **Copy the yen price.** Read the price on the listing yourself. JapanLanded does not fetch the page.
2. **Weigh it, or say you didn't.** Enter grams. If you leave weight blank, the tool uses an unsourced placeholder and labels it.
3. **Read pay-now separately from arrival.** The partial sum is not a landed total. Duty amounts are not calculated.
4. **Check whether it can leave Japan.** Lithium batteries, alcohol, and 100 V gear each have their own note. The result is not a customs clearance.
5. **Order on the proxy's own site.** Outbound links are public pages until affiliate programs are enrolled. We never take payment.

## Questions

### Can I buy the pedal on the English Digimart site with a foreign card?

The research extract says the English site does not take overseas payment. Use a proxy. Confirm that on Digimart's current guidance page before you rely on it.
